​About the Founder

 

Dr Jeanine Kriek (Sainsbury) our founder uses her wealth of knowledge and local and international experience in sensory and consumer research of food and beverages to deliver quality sensory solutions to our clients. She has a decade’s worth of experience in academia and industry, and holds a BSc, and MSc in Nutrition and Food Science and a PhD in Food Science.  

Dr Sainsbury has published several peer-reviewed research papers in leading food science and serves as an external examiner at University of Pretoria.

At Jeanine Consulting we have:

 

Worked on a variety of projects, including shelf-life studies, quality control optimisation, flavour improvement, new flavour development, sensory profile disputes and in-depth consumer research analysis with preference mapping in collaboration with a range of small, medium and multi-national enterprises in the food and drinks industry

 

Experience in various food product types including: food ingredients; snack products; alcoholic and soft drinks; biscuits; chips; sauces and marinades, fast foods and recipe mixes. 

 

A flexible schedule that allows us to take on longer or shorter term projects. 

 

Availability of a  trained panel to complete a variety of discrimination and descriptive testing in order to measure differences between products and to describe these differences by comparing the sensory profiles in question. 

 

In collaboration with consumer recruitment agencies, completed quantitative and qualitative consumer studies to support R&D from concept to launch. Consumer evaluation enables you to determine market acceptability and success as well as product preference. 

 

The expertise to analyse consumer and descriptive data to reveal key drivers of consumer liking and how to make a product that meets acceptance standards.
